Bahrain's Senior Shia Cleric Warns of US-Israel Plot Against Muslim Unity

Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassem, the spiritual leader of Bahrain's Shiite community, has issued a stark warning about what he describes as a coordinated US-Israeli conspiracy aimed at undermining the Muslim Ummah. In a statement reported by Mehr News Agency, the senior cleric asserted that it is no secret to official regimes across the Arab and Islamic world that Washington and Tel Aviv are pursuing malicious agendas and conspiratorial plans designed to weaken the Islamic nation.

Sheikh Qassem accused the United States and the Zionist regime of promoting a 'poisonous culture of division' through their media outlets, with the explicit goal of shattering the unity of the Islamic world. He elaborated that this strategy seeks to deepen rifts among governments at both regional and national levels, with a particular focus on exploiting religious and sectarian differences to create the most severe forms of discord and perpetuate destructive conflicts.

The cleric further revealed that enormous financial resources have been allocated to implement these plans. According to him, the objective is to fuel devastating conflicts that drain the resources of Arab and Muslim countries and ultimately destroy their shared existence. He emphasized that these efforts are not limited to any single region but target both Arabs and non-Arabs across the Arab and Islamic world.

Despite widespread awareness of this aggressive conspiracy, Sheikh Qassem lamented that a considerable number of countries within the scope of these plans have rushed—either openly or through tacit coordination and secrecy—to participate in fomenting internal conflicts and civil wars under the guise of sectarian and religious differences. He did not name specific countries but implied that some governments are complicit in these schemes.

The statement comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, with ongoing concerns about potential military confrontation. Sheikh Qassem's remarks reflect a broader anxiety among Shia communities in the region about external interference and efforts to destabilize Muslim nations.

According to Mehr News Agency, the senior cleric's warning underscores the deep-seated mistrust of US and Israeli policies in the region, particularly among Shia populations. The report added that Sheikh Qassem's comments are likely to resonate with many who view such divisions as a threat to the collective strength of the Islamic world.
