Iranian border guards thwart armed group infiltration attempt

The spokesman for Iran's border guards announced that an armed group attempting to cross into Iranian territory was detected and thwarted. The operation took place in the Saravan border region, where guards from the Saravan border regiment, utilizing intelligence dominance and operational readiness, identified the movements of the group planning to enter Iran and carry out sabotage.

During the ensuing clash, the guards blocked the infiltrators' route and killed one member of the group. The remaining members fled back across the border. A subsequent sweep of the area led to the discovery and seizure of weapons and communications equipment.

The spokesman did not specify the nationality or affiliation of the armed group, nor the exact date of the incident. The report by Mehr News Agency (MNA) highlighted the role of intelligence and preparedness in preventing the infiltration.
