Arbaeen ceremony held in Zanjan for those unable to reach Karbala

TEHRAN, Aug. 04 (MNA) – A ceremony for those who could not reach Karbala on Arbaeen was held Tuesday morning in Iran's Zanjan.

Arbaeen marks the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (a.s.) and his companions in the Battle of Karbala in 680 AD. Millions of pilgrims from around the world, especially from Iran and Iraq, traditionally walk to Karbala to observe this occasion. However, many are unable to make the journey due to various reasons.

In Zanjan, a city in northwestern Iran, a special ceremony was organized to accommodate those who could not travel to Karbala. The event took place on Tuesday morning, providing an opportunity for local mourners to participate in Arbaeen rituals and express their devotion to Imam Hussein (a.s.).

The ceremony included traditional mourning practices, such as elegies and chest-beating, which are common during the months of Muharram and Safar.
