Iran warns US against new miscalculation in Persian Gulf

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi issued a stern warning to the United States against any new miscalculation in the Persian Gulf, following recent US military actions in southern Iran.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Araghchi stated: "Despite its defeats on the battlefield, the U.S. opted to test our determination. Our Powerful Armed Forces will leave no attack or threat unanswered. Leave our region if you want to be safe." He added, "History of the Persian Gulf has many chapters on dire fates of intruding outsiders."

The warning came after US missile strikes destroyed two strategic water tanks in Sirik county, southern Iran, early Wednesday, cutting off drinking water to several villages. In response, Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command announced on Wednesday that army and IRGC forces struck US bases in the region in retaliation for American military aggression.

The incident marks a significant escalation in tensions between Iran and the United States, with both sides exchanging military actions. According to Mehr News Agency, the situation remains volatile, and further developments are expected.
