Araghchi Submits Report on US Proposal to President Pezeshkian

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi submitted a report to President Masoud Pezeshkian on his trip to New York for the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), according to Government Spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani. Mohajerani spoke in an interview on the sidelines of a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, stating that the report covered the foreign minister's meetings with counterparts and included the terms and conditions set by Iran for reopening the Strait of Hormuz through intermediaries.

Araghchi said that despite efforts by the enemy to politically isolate Iran, the Iranian delegation had been at the focal point of attention in New York. He added that numerous discussions were held with European nations, Persian Gulf littoral states, and other countries. According to the foreign minister, diplomatic initiatives aimed at breaking the deadlock in foreign policy have been pursued with determination.

The report to the president also addressed the terms and conditions Iran has set for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which were conveyed through intermediaries. The Strait of Hormuz is a strategically significant waterway through which a substantial portion of global oil shipments passes.

Mohajerani's remarks came during a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, where she briefed on the foreign minister's activities at the UN General Assembly. The 81st UNGA session brought together representatives from numerous countries, providing a platform for bilateral and multilateral discussions.

Araghchi's meetings in New York included engagements with European nations and Persian Gulf littoral states, among others. The Iranian delegation's presence drew attention despite what Araghchi described as attempts to isolate Iran politically.
