Araghchi Calls China Talks Successful, Cites Xi's Four Principles for Peace

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said on Wednesday that his consultations in China with Iranian partners had been successful, describing the talks as part of a strategic partnership Tehran values. In a post on X after concluding the first day of his visit to China, Araghchi wrote: "Successful consultations in China with our partners. Iran values strategic partnership we have built over time."

Araghchi said the decisions made during the visit would shape the region's future strategic balance, adding that they would have "immeasurable knock-on effects." He did not elaborate on the specific decisions or agreements reached during the first day of meetings.

The Iranian foreign minister also referred to the four principles for peace outlined by Chinese President Xi Jinping, calling them "key." He did not provide further details on how those principles relate to the ongoing consultations.

Araghchi's visit to China comes amid broader diplomatic engagement between Tehran and Beijing, which have maintained a comprehensive strategic partnership in recent years. The two countries have cooperated in areas including energy, infrastructure and regional diplomacy.
