Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi has publicly rebuked Lebanese President Joseph Aoun for remarks that appeared to hold Iran responsible for Lebanon's difficulties. In a post on X, Araghchi challenged Aoun's statements, writing, "Based on Mr. Aoun's comments, one would think it's Iran that has occupied 1/5 of Lebanon, displaced 1/4 of Lebanese and bombing his country on daily basis." He emphasized that if Lebanon had been a bargaining chip for Iran, a deal would have been reached long ago. Araghchi concluded his message with a direct appeal: "Save Lebanon from your real foe, Mr. President." The remarks come amid ongoing tensions in the region, with Israel frequently conducting airstrikes in Lebanon and occupying parts of its territory. According to Mehr News Agency, Araghchi's response underscores Iran's position that it is not the source of Lebanon's problems, but rather Israel's actions that are causing the crisis.
