Araghchi meets Malaysian, Cambodian and Algerian counterparts in New York

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met on Saturday with the foreign ministers of Malaysia, Cambodia and Algeria in New York, continuing a series of consultations held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, according to Mehr News.

Araghchi held separate talks with Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan, Cambodian Foreign Minister Sokhonn Prak and Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf. The meetings took place as part of the Iranian delegation's schedule of bilateral contacts during the annual UN gathering, which draws heads of state, government ministers and diplomats from member states to the organization's headquarters.

In addition to the three bilateral meetings, Araghchi also held discussions with Philemon Yang, the President of the UN General Assembly. The report did not specify the topics raised in the individual meetings or any outcomes from them.

The consultations come amid a period of active Iranian diplomacy at the United Nations, where Tehran has regularly used the General Assembly's high-level week to hold talks with counterparts from Asia, Africa and other regions.
