Iran warns of immediate response to any threat against its people and leadership

In a post on his X account on Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi issued a stern warning regarding any threats against Iran. He wrote, "The terms of the Islamabad MoU are crystal clear and public for all to use." He added that the US President has committed the US to muzzling its pets in Tel Aviv, and if they ignore their master, Iran will school them. Araghchi underlined that any threat against the Iranian people and leadership will receive an immediate and powerful response.

This statement came in response to remarks made by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, who was asked about Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. Katz said that Khamenei was "marked for death." He described Iranians as "good merchants" trying to extract concessions in negotiations, and stated that Israel would not allow Iran to produce nuclear weapons. "If they do it through an agreement, all the better," he said.

The exchange highlights the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, with both sides exchanging harsh rhetoric. The Islamabad MoU mentioned by Araghchi refers to a memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and Pakistan, though its specific terms were not elaborated in the post.
