IRGC Warns of Decisive Response to Any Disruption in Strait of Hormuz

The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning that any disruption in the Strait of Hormuz will be met with a firm response. In a statement released on Thursday, the IRGC emphasized that during the past day and night, 26 commercial ships and tankers passed through the safe corridor of the Strait of Hormuz after obtaining permission in coordination with the IRGC Navy. The statement stressed that obtaining permission and coordination for traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is mandatory, and passing through routes other than those permitted by the IRGC is considered disruption and will be dealt with accordingly.

The IRGC reported that on Wednesday night, several ships attempted to enter the Persian Gulf without authorization by tampering with and turning off their navigation systems. After several rounds of radio warnings, IRGC Navy fighters stopped two of them in place, and the rest were forced to return. The statement also addressed an incident involving the American military, which it described as a terrorist force in the region. According to the IRGC, the American military violated a ceasefire and launched several missiles at empty areas of Bandar Abbas airport, which did not cause any damage. In response, the IRGC said it attacked the American base from which the attack originated. The statement warned that if such actions are repeated, the American terrorist army will face a harsh response.

The IRGC reiterated that the Strait of Hormuz is controlled and managed only by the IRGC Navy, and any disruption in this strait will face a decisive response. The statement comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with the Strait of Hormuz being a critical waterway for global oil shipments. According to Mehr News Agency (MNA), the IRGC's warning underscores Iran's firm stance on maintaining security and control over the strategic waterway.
