SaveYouGov poll: Trump named worst American in history by 34% of respondents
A recent YouGov poll has revealed that 34 percent of Americans named former President Donald Trump as the worst person in American history, according to a report by Newsweek. The survey, which asked respondents to name the greatest and worst Americans of all time, placed Trump at the top of the worst list, followed by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, serial killers Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy, and former Democratic presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
The results highlight the deep partisan divide over Trump. Among Democrats, 64 percent selected him as the worst, while only 4 percent of Republicans did so. Independents fell in between, with 34 percent naming Trump. Trump also appeared on the list of greatest Americans, with 8 percent of total respondents naming him, including 24 percent of Republicans—the highest share for any individual among Republicans. In contrast, 0 percent of Democrats and 2 percent of independents considered him the greatest.
Former President Abraham Lincoln was named the greatest American by 18 percent of respondents, with nearly equal support from both Democrats and Republicans. The only other president to appear on both the best and worst lists was Barack Obama.
The poll underscores how Trump remains one of the most polarizing figures in the country, viewed by some as defining American greatness and by others as its worst example. According to Newsweek, the survey reflects the sharply divided opinions on Trump across partisan lines.
