IRGC Navy warns US forces moving closer to 'zero hour'

In a statement accompanied by images of US military movements and equipment, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy's command stated on Friday that American activities are under the full surveillance of Iranian naval units. The Americans are moving closer to the zero hour of an operation against CENTCOM's naval units in the region's waters every moment, the message read. The statement concluded with a warning: "Wait for it." Iran's Armed Forces spokesperson has also warned that any new attack by the US against Iranian infrastructure would trigger a "very devastating" response. According to Mehr News Agency (MNA), the IRGC Navy's warning comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States in the region. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has not yet responded to the Iranian statement. The development follows a series of incidents involving US and Iranian naval forces in the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean. Iran has repeatedly asserted its right to defend its territorial waters and has conducted military exercises to demonstrate its capabilities. The IRGC Navy is responsible for patrolling Iran's territorial waters in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway through which about 20% of the world's oil passes. The United States maintains a significant naval presence in the region, including aircraft carrier strike groups and other warships. The situation remains tense, with both sides closely monitoring each other's movements.
