Iran Parliament Speaker Condemns US Attacks in Hormozgan Province

In a post on his X account on Wednesday, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf condemned the recent US attacks in Iran's Hormozgan province, referencing previous incidents that he said were carried out by the US government.

Ghalibaf wrote: “Minab school: children massacred. Lamerd sports hall: kids slaughtered. Kouhestak wedding: children killed with families.” He asserted that if a power acts like Satan, picks targets like Satan, and kills like Satan, then it is Satan. He further stated that shielding a junior Satan that does the same makes one “THE Great Satan.”

The remarks came after dozens were killed and injured when US forces attacked a wedding ceremony and a residential area in the town of Bandar-e Kouhestak in Hormozgan province on Wednesday evening. The attacks have drawn widespread condemnation from Iranian officials.

According to Mehr News Agency (MNA), the attacks targeted civilian areas, resulting in significant casualties. The Iranian government has vowed to respond to such aggression. The international community has been urged to take a stand against these actions.

This is not the first time that US military actions have been criticized by Iranian leaders. Previous incidents in Minab and Lamerd have been cited by officials as examples of US aggression against Iranian civilians. The latest attack in Kouhestak adds to the growing list of grievances.

According to the report by Mehr News Agency, Ghalibaf's statements reflect the official stance of Iran's parliament regarding US actions in the region. The parliament speaker emphasized that such attacks will not go unanswered.
