Local assessments in Iran have concluded that the US strike on a civilian wedding gathering in Sirik, Hormozgan Province, was executed intentionally and with precise targeting accuracy. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of 5 people and injuries to 70 others.
Technically, the weapon used in the strike has been identified as an AGM-154C, which is classified as an air-launched, precision-guided glide weapon rather than a traditional cruise missile. Unlike cruise missiles, the AGM-154C is unpowered; once released from an aircraft, it deploys its wings to glide toward its intended target.
The US Navy categorizes the AGM-154C within its Joint Standoff Weapon family. The recovery of missile debris at the wedding site confirms the type of weapon used.
According to Mehr News Agency (MNA), the debris was recovered at the Sirik wedding site, and the findings support the conclusion that the strike was deliberate and targeted. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of civilians in the region.
