Iran's AEOI denies attacks on Bushehr nuclear plant

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) issued a statement on Sunday, February 16, 2025, in response to recent claims circulating on social media that parts of the Bushehr nuclear power plant had been targeted. The organization categorically rejected these rumors, asserting that the Bushehr nuclear power plant is in a completely normal, safe, and stable state. All its units and facilities are operating continuously and in accordance with standard procedures, the statement said.

The AEOI further emphasized that any official information regarding its facilities, activities, or related events will be disseminated exclusively through the organization's official communication channels. This clarification comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with ongoing concerns about potential US-Israeli aggression against Iranian nuclear sites. The Bushehr nuclear power plant, located in southern Iran, is the country's first nuclear power plant and has been a focal point of international attention.

According to Mehr News Agency, the AEOI's statement aims to dispel misinformation and reassure the public about the safety and security of Iran's nuclear infrastructure. The report by Mehr News added that the plant continues to operate under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and remains in compliance with international safeguards.
