A new NBC News Decision Desk Poll, powered by SurveyMonkey, found that 71 percent of US adults believe the country is on the "wrong track," the highest percentage recorded by the survey during President Donald Trump's second term. The finding comes as Republicans face mounting economic concerns ahead of the November 3 midterm elections, according to the poll.
The survey put Trump's approval rating at 34 percent, while 66 percent of respondents disapprove of his performance. A majority, 51 percent, said they strongly disapprove, which the poll described as another second-term high in the survey.
The poll also found that registered voters favor Democratic House candidates over Republicans by 55 percent to 45 percent. According to the survey, this gap could complicate Republican efforts to maintain their majority in the House of Representatives.
The results were reported by Mehr News, which cited the NBC News Decision Desk Poll. The survey was powered by SurveyMonkey.
