According to the Iraqi Al-Sumariyyah TV website, the Iraqi Security Information Unit announced on Sunday that the number of people who entered Iraq from other nations to perform the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (a.s.) through border crossings and various airports has increased to more than 4.4 million.
The unit also pointed out that the movement of pilgrims towards the province of Karbala continues without any problems. It emphasized that the special security plan to ensure the safety of the Arbaeen pilgrimage has been carried out as planned and is being implemented with high flexibility, with no security breaches recorded.
The Iraqi Security Information Unit praised the high coordination between military and intelligence apparatuses and service organizations to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims.
The Arbaeen pilgrimage, which marks the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (a.s.), is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, drawing millions of pilgrims from various countries to the holy city of Karbala in Iraq.
