28 Ships Cross Strait of Hormuz with IRGC Clearance

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy announced that 28 ships crossed the Strait of Hormuz on a single day under its coordination and security protection. This marks the highest publicly announced daily total since the conflict erupted on February 28, disrupting traffic through the strategic waterway that normally handles about one-fifth of global oil trade.

The IRGC Navy stated that the Persian Gulf is a body of water belonging to the region's Muslim countries and that the "aggression and mischief of the American terrorist army" is the main cause of insecurity there at present. It added that the "smart control of the Strait of Hormuz is being carried out continuously, firmly and with authority."

Iran has insisted that transit is open to friendly nations under a coordinating system with its naval forces, while the U.S. has maintained a naval blockade on Iranian ports. The crossing of 28 vessels in a single day indicates that shipping continues under Iran's supervision despite the ongoing tensions.

According to Mehr News Agency (MNA), the report highlights the IRGC's role in managing maritime traffic through the strait amid the broader conflict. The situation remains fluid, with both sides asserting their positions regarding navigation rights in the region.
