10 Iraqi provinces to shut down for Iran Leader's funeral

Ten Iraqi provinces have announced that they will shut down on Wednesday to allow residents to participate in the funeral procession of Iran's Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who was martyred. The provinces include Baghdad, Najaf Ashraf, Karbala, Babil, Dhi Qar, Basra, Maysan, Wasit, Muthanna, and Diwaniyah. The closures will facilitate the movement of mourners heading to the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala, where the funeral ceremonies will take place.

Qassem Ali al-Yasari, head of the Karbala provincial council, stated that the province has completed all necessary preparations to welcome the holy body of the martyred leader. He emphasized that security and logistical arrangements are in place to ensure a smooth and respectful ceremony.

In Najaf, Haidar Kaboon, director of the Department of Rituals and Million Pilgrimages, announced that more than 60 Mawkibs (service tents) have registered to provide services to the participants. These Mawkibs will offer food, water, and other amenities to the large crowds expected to attend.

Earlier, various Iraqi tribes and religious communities had issued announcements calling for a massive turnout at the funeral ceremony. The funeral headquarters confirmed that the event is scheduled for Wednesday in the two holy provinces. The participation reflects the deep ties between Iran and Iraq, particularly in religious and cultural spheres.

According to Mehr News Agency, the funeral of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution will be held in Iraq on Wednesday, with extensive preparations underway to honor his legacy.
